The Rivers State Police Command revealed recently that it rescued 10 victims of child trafficking during a raid of two suspected baby factories in the state.

Spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement yesterday, said four suspected operators of the baby factories were also arrested.

According to him, the victims – two adult males and 10 expectant women, including teenagers, were forcefully kept in the factories after they were brainwashed by the operators.

Iringe-Koko hinted that the suspects were led by a 40-year-old woman from Igwuruta community. The pregnant victims were aged between 15 and 29 at the time of their rescue.

However, she stated that the case has been transferred to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department while efforts are on to track and arrest the buyers.
