No fewer than two people have been reported killed and several others injured after some herders and farmers clashed in Minjibir Local Government Area of Kano State.
About 10 villages have also been sacked and farmlands destroyed in the clash.
Witnesses said the incident started at the weekend when herders reportedly released their animals to graze in farms in which crops were yet to be harvested.
Residents barricaded the road leading to Babura in Jigawa State on Wednesday to protest the development.
However, the leadership of the Miyetti-Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) said the clash was caused because farmers planted along grazing routes.
