2 Killed in Fresh Attack on Benue Community

In a tragic development, Armed invaders have again killed two people in Umogidi community, Entekpa Ward in Adoka District, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Villagers said that the fresh killings happened two days after the attacks which claimed 17 lives in three communities, including Iwili, Umogidi and Opaha in Entekpa Ward.

An indigene of the area, Adakole Joseph, said that the two people killed were his uncle and cousin while a few others were injured.

He explained that the invaders attacked Umogidi again in the evening of Thursday, February 8, 2024, killed some persons and left others injured.

Alfred Oketa Omakwu, the Otukpo LGA Chairman, also confirmed the the attack on the telephone to our correspondent, saying that two youths were gunned down by the assailants who equally engaged the military.

Omakwu, however, said calm had returned despite threats by the attackers who vowed to return
