No fewer than 14 different political parties in Ondo State on Thursday signed an agreement for the peaceful conduct of its supporters ahead of the forthcoming general election in the state.
The political parties include the Peoples Democratic Party, the All Progressives Congress, the Labour Party, the SDP and many others.
The peace accord was signed by the chairmen and candidates of the political parties in the forthcoming elections at the stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Commissioner of Police in Ondo, CP Oyeyemi Oyediran.
Oyediran said the step was necessitated to ensure that the forthcoming elections were devoid of acrimony and violence before, during, and after the exercise
