The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as its sole presidential and governorship candidates, respectively, for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement came during the party’s State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting held on Wednesday, August 27, at the APC secretariat in Asaba.
In a statement issued by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the meeting, which was presided over by the State Chairman, Omeni Sobotie, was attended by SEC members and the 25 local government chairmen of the party.
Sobotie charged party leaders to remain steadfast, disciplined, and united in strengthening the APC in Delta under Governor Oborevwori’s leadership. He stressed the need for harmony, loyalty, and reconciliation to secure the party’s future victories, while also highlighting grassroots mobilisation as a key priority.
He further briefed members on the party’s upcoming empowerment programme aimed at delivering tangible relief to members and communities across the state.
The highlight of the meeting was the adoption of a resolution endorsing President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate, citing his “visionary leadership, bold economic reforms, and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Similarly, Governor Oborevwori was endorsed as the sole governorship candidate of the party in Delta, with members applauding his record of service, inclusive leadership, and dedication to good governance under the M.O.R.E Agenda.
The motion for the endorsement was moved by Chief Ubu Digbame, the party’s State Assistant Auditor, and seconded by Pastor Norbert Sochukwudinma, Chairman of APC in Aniocha South Local Government Area.
The resolution, greeted with thunderous applause, reflected the overwhelming support of the SEC for the two leaders.
