In a significant move aimed at empowering the youth of Ebonyi State, Governor Francis Nwifuru has sent 204 indigenes to the United Kingdom under his scholarship scheme. The Governor revealed this during a ceremony held yesterday, where he also shared his ambitious goal of ensuring that 8,000 Ebonyi indigene benefit from the state’s scholarship program by the end of his tenure. This initiative, according to Nwifuru, is designed to equip the state’s youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of Ebonyi State.
Additionally, 541 students have been sent to various Nigerian universities, with their full expenses covered by the Ebonyi State Government.
Governor Nwifuru urged the newly enrolled students to serve as ambassadors for the state, stressing the importance of their conduct, actions, and achievements as representatives of the Ebonyi people. He further emphasized the need for them to graduate on time and return to the state, where they can apply their expertise to help advance the development of Ebonyi.
