The crisis rocking the Rivers State House of Assembly took a new turn today with twenty-seven members defecting from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state to the All Progressives Congress.
The lawmakers who reportedly instigated the impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, have cited internal divisions within the PDP as the primary motive behind their decision to defect to the APC.
Furthermore, the Rivers State legislators today collectively passed a resolution denouncing the withholding of funds allocated for the management of the House of Assembly.
