A total of 50 Afghan nationals recently released from Pakistani jails have returned to Afghanistan, the state-run Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) reported on Thursday.
The returnees were received at a border crossing point, where they were provided with essential assistance before being transported to their respective home provinces.
According to the report, nearly 400 Afghan nationals have been released from Pakistani jails and repatriated in recent weeks as part of ongoing efforts to address the situation of Afghan detainees abroad.
In a related development, a total of 3,465 Afghan refugee families—comprising 16,376 individuals—have returned from Pakistan and Iran over the past week, signaling a growing wave of repatriation amid shifting regional dynamics.
Afghan authorities continue to work with international partners and neighboring countries to facilitate the safe and dignified return of their citizens.
