Africa was buzzing worldwide last weekend after Morocco shockingly knocked out Portugal.

As the first African cum Arab country to reach the World Cup semi-finals, Morocco now represent so much more than its own nation as its achievements united a region and continent in celebration.

The Moroccan flag was displayed in cities all around the world on Saturday as fans celebrated the Atlas Lions’ historic 1-0 victory over Portugal.

But the battle for the final spot is even tougher. Champions France are the next opponents for Morocco, and the odds are in favour of the French, with a 63 per cent chance of winning.

Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi appears confident of another shocking result, after sending a message to his PSG teammate Kylian Mbappe.

Morocco will face France at 8pm on Wednesday.
