Miyetti Allah Commends EFCC on arrest of Ortom

Miyetti Allah Breeders Association of Nigeria(MACBAN),have commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) ,for the arrest of the immediate past governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom.

The former governor who arrived at the Makurdi Zonal Office of the anti-graft agency, located at Alor Gordon Street is currently in custody of the agency.

It was gathered that the former governor was invited to be questioned concerning an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure as an official.

Speaking while reacting to this development the leader of Miyetti Allah in Benue,Alhaji Usman Abubakar said that the former governor deserves to be dealt with because of his atrocities in the state.

Recall that Miyetti Allah had threatened to take Ortom to the International Criminal Court (ICC), because of his alleged partisanship in the farmers/Herders crisis in the state.

Alhaji Abubakr said the news of the invitation of Ortom by the anti- graft agency and subsequent detention was exciting, adding that the agency must make sure that he would account for all the damage he did in the state.

He said that members of his union lost lives and properties worth billions of naira because of the way the former governor handled the farmers-herders crisis.

“There is always the day of reckoning and we warned him of the consequences of what he was doing. He was deliberating aggravating the farmers-herders conflict in the state for political gain. There was nothing that he did not do to our members and our union. He signed the anti-grazing bill and gave us two weeks to leave Benue State.  He was even insulting former president Muhammadu Buhari and all the Fulanis, calling us different kinds of names. Time has now come for him to pay for his crime. This will serve as a lesson to others who don’t want us to do our business in Nigeria.”
