Galatasaray has expressed their admiration for Victor Osimhen’s remarkable bicycle kick goal during their 3-0 victory over Antalyaspor on Saturday, describing the goal as “more than a photograph, a work of art” in a statement shared on their Instagram page on Sunday.

The Nigerian striker sealed the win for Galatasaray with a spectacular acrobatic effort two minutes into added time during the Süper Lig Game week 9 fixture at Corendon Airlines Park in Antalya. Osimhen’s goal, which will be remembered as a standout moment in global football, was his third league goal this season.

Osimhen had earlier opened his scoring account for Galatasaray in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa, but his progress was briefly halted by a hamstring injury, which sidelined him for two matches. Returning to form, the 25-year-old Napoli loanee played a key role in helping the defending champions get back to winning ways. Galatasaray’s weekend was further boosted by title rivals Besiktas dropping points.

The Turkish champions had recently secured a seismic 2-0 victory over Fenerbahce in the Intercontinental Derby, which eased the pressure on manager Okan Buruk. However, Buruk’s tactics came under scrutiny again following consecutive setbacks, including a 2-2 draw against Latvian side Riga in the Europa League, where Galatasaray squandered a 2-0 lead without Osimhen. They bounced back with a 1-0 win over Alanyaspor before heading into the international break.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September for the remainder of the season, has quickly become a fan favorite. The club is reportedly working hard to make his move permanent, but they face stiff competition from several suitors, most notably Chelsea, which could complicate their efforts.

The 25-year-old former Lille striker continues to impress, and his goal against Antalyaspor only adds to his growing legacy in Turkish football.
