Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has called on candidates and supporters of the party to desist from making derogatory comments about members of the opposition.
Peter Obi disclosed this on Friday via a post on his official Twitter handle.
The development comes after Herman Hembe, governorship candidate of Labour Party in Benue, had asked the people to support his party to kick out “deceit” in the state during the party’s presidential campaign rally on Wednesday.
Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently the governor of Benue, and he is completing his second term in office.
Obi described Hembe’s comments as unacceptable.
The presidential candidate said everyone has his shortcomings, while urging members of the party to continue to run an issue-based campaign.
