The Abia State government has commenced its first Executive Council Retreat for 2025 at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia. Themed “Sustaining the Momentum; Accelerating Execution,” the two-day retreat brings together top government officials for leadership discussions, strategic planning, and agenda-setting.
Speaking at the event, the state leadership highlighted the administration’s achievements over the past 20 months while emphasizing the need for accelerated development. The retreat aims to strengthen execution strategies and ensure the administration remains on track with its governance agenda, as outlined in the May 2023 Transition Council report and manifesto.

The governor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering lasting socio-economic transformation across the state. He urged participants to actively engage, provide constructive feedback, and embrace a renewed sense of urgency and excellence in governance.
The retreat features expert presentations from distinguished resource persons, including Elder Steve Oronsaye, Rev. Tony Akinyemi, Mr. Kelvin Emmanuel, Dr. Maxwell Ubah, and Mr. Chijioke Uwaegbute, who provided valuable insights on effective leadership and policy execution.
The deliberations are expected to shape the administration’s roadmap for the year, ensuring that governance efforts continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the people of Abia State.
