The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company has threatened to disconnect the electricity in the Presidential Villa and over 80 government ministries and agencies over N47.1 billion electricity debt.

In an advertorial on Monday, the AEDC said it was constrained to publish the names of its debtors with “long outstanding unpaid bills.”

The AEDC said it would commence disconnection of the Presidential Villa and other MDAs that have failed to pay their bills by February 28.

Aside from the Presidential Villa, the ministries of finance, information, budget, works and housing, barracks, Nigeria Police Force, CBN, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and state liaison offices in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are among the MDAs owing the AEDC.
