ADC DISOWNS PDP, LP PRESSURE ON INEC CHAIRMAN TO STEP DOWN

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) disowns the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) over the call for the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Mahmood Yakubu to step down.
Also, the party said it was not calling for fresh elections.

It asked all parties to remain law abiding and remember that the Electoral Act has provisions for redress.

The party’s position was contained in a statement by its Board of Trustees Chairman, Sen. (Mrs.) Patricia Akwashiki.

The statement noted that the ADC was not involved in the call for the INEC Chairman to step down from his position and that fresh elections should not be conducted as the electoral act had made provisions for redress when grievances occur.
