ADEBUTU, OGUN APC TRADE BLAME OVER INEC OFFICIAL’S DEATH

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in ogun state Oladipupo Adebutu, has accused the All Progressives Congress APC of sponsoring some political thugs that caused the death of an ad hoc staff member of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Emmanuel Adeniran.

The ad hoc staff was attached to a polling unit in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area during the governorship and House of Assembly polls.

The Media Director for INEC in Ogun State, Ope Ajayi, confirmed the death of the ad hoc staff three days after the election.

Ajayi, while speaking in Abeokuta on Sunday, said the polling unit was attacked by thugs during the election.

Adeniran was said to have sustained a serious injury while running away from the thugs.

He was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Saturday, was discharged later, but died on Monday.
