Osun State Government has faulted calls by the All Progressives Congress, APC for it to keep to its campaign promise of paying all the salary arrears of workers within the first six months of assumption of office.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, while clearing the air in a statement released on Friday, said Governor Ademola Adeleke did not make such a promise.
He agreed that Governor Ademola Adeleke had promised to pay the arrears of half salaries, but he did not set any timeline for the payment.
He taunted the APC saying since losing the governorship election, the party has been going about spewing lies and half-truths.
He urged them not to mislead the people by looking for cheap sympathy as Governor Adeleke has paid two months salary.
He further explained that Governor Adeleke’s administration already has an agreement with the NLC and there is already a modality on how the half salary arrears will be paid and will not be reneged upon.
He also urged the members of the public to disregard the APC members and their known antics, describing their stance on the matter as losing grasp with reality after their defeat at the polls
