Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, have continued their mutual mudslinging, with the former saying he would not exchange insults with his immediate successor as Rivers State governor.
According to Amaechi, doing so would mean stooping to the level of a child. His statement followed Wike’s recent retort that Amaechi was not hungry for food as he claimed in his 60th birthday speech, but rather for power. He stressed that the FCT minister was his chief of staff and that he could have declined the appointment.

The former minister said he wanted Wike as his chief of staff so that he could supervise him, rather than offer him the commissioner for finance position.
Amaechi further criticised Wike’s political style as immature and one that tarnishes his family name. According to him, there is no longer respect for family names, people say and do anything.
