Amotekun Rescues Five Kidnap Victims in Ondo -See More

The Western Nigeria Security Network, Amotekun Corps, has successfully rescued five kidnap victims in Ondo State without the payment of the N150 million ransom demanded by their abductors.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Akure, State Amotekun Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, said the rescues took place on May 6 and May 10, following intensified forest operations across the state.

According to Adeleye, four victims were abducted on May 10 along the Lagos-Ore Expressway, with kidnappers demanding N100 million. A distress call was promptly made, and Amotekun operatives swiftly mobilized into the forest, leading to the victims’ safe recovery.

The fifth victim, kidnapped on May 6 along the Ikare-Owo Road, also regained freedom without any ransom payment, despite sustaining machete wounds from his abductors who had demanded N50 million. He is currently receiving treatment at Amotekun’s medical facility.

“These rescues were possible due to the state’s mandate empowering security agencies to enter forests and dismantle criminal hideouts,” Adeleye stated.

He added that Amotekun officers are on 24-hour patrol, and rangers are stationed in forests to respond swiftly to credible intelligence. Adeleye reaffirmed the Ondo State Government’s commitment to zero tolerance for crime, particularly kidnapping and armed robbery.
