Anambra Assembly Majority Leader Urges Ndi Anambra to Join Fight Against Insecurity/Vop

The Majority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme, has called on Ndi Anambra to actively participate in the fight against insecurity in the state. His appeal came after the recent demolition of a building used as a hideout for kidnappers and criminals in Ndieze Nwankwo village, Uruagu Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.

The demolition was carried out by the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, alongside men from Operation Udo Ga-Achi. The operation was in line with the Anambra State Homeland Security Laws, and the community leaders testified that several kidnap victims were rescued from the property, which had been linked to a notorious kidnapper, Mr. Kenechukwu Ifedigbo.

In his remarks, Hon. Ofodeme commended Governor Soludo for his swift action in addressing the criminal activities, stressing the importance of community collaboration in ensuring the safety of all. He urged residents to provide valuable security information to law enforcement agencies to help tackle crime effectively.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government, Mr. Echezona Anazodo, warned criminals to stay away from the area and encouraged youths to embrace Governor Soludo’s “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, which aims to equip young people with skills that will help them contribute positively to society.

The President General of Ndieze Nwankwo community, Mr. Nonso Nwosu, confirmed that the demolished bungalow belonged to Ifedigbo, a known criminal who had been terrorizing the community.
