Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, has called for increased support and prayers for the Nigerian Armed Forces, as they continue to risk their lives in service to the nation.

During an interview following the thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith in Awka to mark the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration, Mr. Itam urged Nigerians, particularly those in Anambra, to continue praying for and supporting the military, emphasizing that their sacrifices are vital in maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of the nation’s citizens.

Similarly, Mr. Daniel Onyeishi, the State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), highlighted that the celebration provides an opportunity to raise funds and develop initiatives to support the families of security personnel who have died in active service.

Dr. Benedict Agbaogu, Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in Anambra State, also called for greater support from both the government and individuals to improve the welfare of service.
