The Anambra State Government has dismissed circulating rumors alleging that Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is targeting women who go out without underwear, as well as men with dreadlocks or those who sag their trousers.
Speaking in Awka, the state Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, debunked the claims, describing them as falsehoods spread by mischief makers aiming to incite public unrest. He warned that the government would soon take action against individuals responsible for spreading such fake news.
Dr. Mefor clarified that no dress code regulations are included in the recently enacted Anambra Homeland Security Law. He emphasized that the administration remains focused on tackling crime and ensuring a secure environment for law-abiding residents.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to addressing the state’s challenges, he urged the public to disregard misleading reports and rely on verified sources for accurate information.
