In a bid to enhance tourism and expand the hospitality sector, the Anambra State Government, in collaboration with “Ije Ride,” has launched the state’s first-ever floating restaurant at the Marine Jetty in Onitsha.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Commissioner for Transport, Barrister Patricia Igwebuike, described the initiative as part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision to promote tourism, support local businesses, and showcase Anambra’s cultural heritage. She emphasized that the partnership with “Ije Ride” aims to harness the state’s waterways, attract visitors, and create economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
Honourable Edward Ibuzo, Chief Executive Officer of “Ije Ride,” lauded the governor’s foresight, noting that the floating restaurant would offer a unique dining experience featuring both local and international cuisine, all against the backdrop of Anambra’s scenic waterways.
Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Mr. Chiejina Obieze, assured the public that stringent safety measures and regulations would be enforced to guarantee a secure and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

The launch of the floating restaurant is expected to serve as a major boost to Anambra’s tourism sector, further solidifying the state’s position as a top destination for visitors.
