A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that the South-East region has emerged as a stronghold of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The APC leader made the assertion while responding to criticisms from opposition figures, insisting that growing support for President Tinubu across the South-East reflects increasing acceptance of his administration and its policies.
According to him, the APC has recorded significant progress in the region through political realignments, increased grassroots engagement, and defections from opposition parties. He said these developments show that the South-East is gradually aligning with the ruling party and the presidentโs Renewed Hope agenda.
The chieftain argued that opposition attacks on Tinubuโs leadership were driven by fear of the APCโs expanding influence nationwide, particularly in regions previously considered unfavorable to the party. He added that federal government interventions, infrastructure projects, and inclusive governance efforts were helping to rebuild trust in the South-East.
He further expressed confidence that the region would deliver substantial electoral support for President Tinubu in 2027, noting that the APC is working to strengthen party structures and maintain unity across the five South-East states.
The APC chieftain urged party members to remain focused and committed, stressing that sustained engagement with the people would be key to consolidating the partyโs gains ahead of the next general elections.
