All Progressives Congress, APC Anambra State chapter, has hailed the judgement of an Abuja High Court for the disqualification of the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Chris Azubogu, from contesting the Anambra South Senatorial ticket in the 2023 general elections.
The APC expressed satisfaction that it has been vindicated by the judgement, adding that the party is indifferent about who flies the flag of APGA in Anambra South District on February 25, 2023.
This was contained in a statement by the state’s Publicity Secretary, Okelo Madukaife, and made available to journalists in Awka, on Saturday, adding that the APC shares in the rebuke handed down by the court to Azubogu that it is shameful that a legislator does not know the law.
The statement celebrated the vindication of the party by the judgement of the court and further stated that by the express provision of Section 68 of the 1999 Constitution as amended, Azubogu could not have been a PDP legislator and APC member, nor a PDP legislator and APGA candidate.
The statement noted that is a well-deserved judgment that holds great potential to wake up the right sensibilities in Anambra State and to develop the polity further and deepen political consciousness in the state.
