The Nigerian Senate, has removed Mohamed Ali Ndume, the Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Borno South.
The upper chamber replaced Ndume with Tahir Mungono, the Lawmaker representing Borno North.
His removal followed the criticisms of President Bola Tinubu’s government.
Ndume recently granted interview to the BBC Hausa where he criticized Tinubu over the food insecurity in the country. He told the media that the president has shut his doors against his Ministers.
During plenary today, the removal of Ndume was sponsored by lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress, APC who formed the majority.
When put to a voice vote, several lawmakers voted in favour and he was replaced.
