Apostle Johnson Suleman, Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, has reacted to Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar’s public apology for her defamatory comments, emphasizing that forgiveness does not mean forgetting.

In a brief statement on X.com, Suleman stated, “You all stop calling my phone. Forgiveness is not memory loss! Status quo maintained!” This response follows Abubakar’s admission on Instagram that her previous statements about the cleric were “false and hurtful.”

In her apology, Abubakar expressed regret for the pain caused by her allegations, attributing her actions to poor judgment and a desire for forgiveness after “deep reflection and conscience.”

The controversy began in 2022 when Abubakar alleged a romantic relationship with Suleman, leading to threats of legal action from the pastor. In 2023, she claimed to have been pregnant three times with Suleman’s child, which escalated the situation.

In April, a Federal Capital Territory High Court ordered Abubakar to pay N10 million in damages for her derogatory remarks and prohibited her from making further defamatory statements about Suleman. The court also mandated her to publish a retraction on her Instagram account.
