The Coalition of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum has urged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to further endear itself to the youths and elders across the North with a timely release of embattled former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Abdulrashid Bawa.
According to the leader of the forum, Alhaji Babangida Malabu while addressing a press conference in Abuja yesterday, he said the prolonged detention of Bawa by the Department of State Services, DSS negates the populist and progressive ideals of the current administration.
He therefore urged the relevant authorities, particularly the DSS to adhere to the principles of the rule of law and immediately charge Bawa to court or release him without further delay.
He also implored the judiciary to swiftly review any charges brought against him and ensure a fair trial that upholds the principles of justice.
