According to Shehu, the leak was orchestrated by elements within the PDP, possibly with the backing of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in a bid to divert public attention during the mourning period for late President Buhari.
The PDP’s National Working Committee described Atiku’s resignation as unsurprising, advising Nigerians to focus on pressing issues like poverty and insecurity rather than internal party drama.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde also commented, saying that if Atiku feels he’s a liability to the PDP, he is free to leave.
