The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, has denied collecting any money from a governor of the former ruling party.
Senator Ayu was reacting to the N1 billion corruption allegation by Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, during a media parley early on Friday at the Rivers State Government house in Port Harcourt.
The PDP chairman said, he never collected any money as an individual from any governor or individual.
He added that all monies received on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party were duly remitted to the PDP treasury.
He, however, noted that a governor of the party donated N100m for the renovation of the PDP’s Democratic Institute, and the money has not even been exhausted as the renovation is ongoing.
The National Chairman has had a running battle with 5 governors of the party led by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
