Biafra Agitation: Nnamdi Kanu Our Sole Founder, IPOB Tells Nigerian Army

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPoB) has accused the Nigerian Army of spreading false information to sway judicial proceedings related to its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

According to a statement by IPoB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the Nigerian Army recently claimed to have arrested IPoB’s “founding father,” a statement IPoB called misleading and false. The group condemned the Army’s claims as an attempt to influence judges handling Kanu’s case, stating that each time the trial draws near, similar accusations arise, allegedly aimed at biasing the judicial outcome.

IPoB emphasized that Nnamdi Kanu is recognized as the founder and leader of IPoB, citing the Army’s own previous allegations against Kanu. The group called on the Nigerian Army to stop discrediting itself by promoting “shameless propaganda” and urged the public to disregard what it described as efforts to intimidate the judiciary.

The statement criticized the Army’s actions as lacking “class, honor, and dignity,” further mocking the Army’s claims by questioning whether there would also be an announcement about a “founding mother” of IPoB.
