The Most Reverend Emmanuel Badejo, the Bishop of Oyo, in his homily at the opening Mass spoke about St. Paul and how to be a good leader.
Bishop Badejo said that knowing about St. Paul is very important for Christians. “If you don’t know about St. Paul, you haven’t really started your journey as a Christian,” he explained. He told everyone to have a reason for coming to church and a reason for leaving.
He talked about how Jesus taught his followers to be leaders by serving others. “Leaders should know the Bible well,” he said. He used St. Paul’s story to show that leaders often lose something important before they can lead.
He also said leaders should not be afraid to take risks and should always have hope. “Hope is like hearing the future’s song and dancing to it now,” he shared.
Finally, he pointed out that leaders should share what they have to help others feel comfortable. His wise words were a reminder for youths present to live like St. Paul and serve like Jesus in their daily lives.
