Some Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly attacked Jakana Police station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, killing a policeman and a woman, while carting away arms and ammunition.
VOP News learnt that the terrorists ambushed the security operatives as they arrived at the police station around 1:00am and engaged in a gun duel with the officers until 3:00 am.
Security sources who spoke with Daily Trust said the insurgents also set ablaze two patrol vehicles and a motorcycle.
Confirming the incident to journalists, the Chairman of Konduga Local government, Hon Abbas Ali Abari, said more details regarding the attack will be released soon.
Meanwhile, the Borno State command Police Public Relations Officer, Nahun Kenneth, has yet to issue any statement regarding the attack.
Meanwhile, bandit leader Kachallah Bello Turji has rechoed his accusations against Alhaji Bello Matawalle, the former Governor of Zamfara State and current Minister of Defence.
Turji, in a new video, insists that Matawalle has been involved in supporting terrorism in the North West region of Nigeria.
This comes despite a denial from Matawalle’s camp. Earlier, the Minister’s media consultant, Deyemi Saka, refuted Turji’s claims, calling them unfounded.
However, Turji has maintained his stance, insisting that his allegations are accurate and based on truth.
