In a major political shake-up, six members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives have officially resigned from the party and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing internal crises and leadership issues within the PDP.
The lawmakers represent various constituencies, including Delta State, and submitted their resignation letters during a House plenary session. Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read the letters aloud, confirming their switch to the ruling APC.
Some of the lawmakers expressed that ongoing infighting within the PDP was affecting their performance and political effectiveness. Their move to the APC reflects growing unrest within the opposition party and signals a potential shift in power dynamics ahead of upcoming elections.
