Armed military personnel have reportedly invaded the headquarters of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) in Lagos, assaulting workers and causing chaos.
The incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday at the company’s office, located opposite MITV in Ikeja. Sources say the soldiers, led by a female officer, stormed the premises and began physically attacking staff and other individuals present.
The exact reason for the invasion remains unclear. However, the situation escalated to the point that police officers were called to intervene. Despite their presence, the military personnel have refused to back down.
This development has raised concerns over the growing tension between security forces and corporate entities. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
