BREAKING: Pro-Fubara Supporters Stage Protest, Demand Governor’s Reinstatement

PORT HARCOURT – Hundreds of supporters of the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, took to the streets of Port Harcourt on Tuesday in a peaceful protest, calling for his immediate reinstatement.

Dressed in black and carrying placards with bold inscriptions such as “Together We Stand for Governor Sim Fubara,” “We Want Back Our Governor, We All Voted For,” and “Governor Fubara Is the Pride of Rivers People,” the demonstrators began their march from Aggrey Road in the Old Port Harcourt Township, drawing attention from residents and passersby.

The protest marks the latest in a wave of demonstrations—both in support of and against the embattled governor—since the political crisis escalated on March 18. President Bola Tinubu had declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State on that date, leading to the suspension of Governor Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and members of the state’s House of Assembly.

The unrest in Rivers State has continued to generate nationwide concern, with calls for political resolution and calm intensifying as the situation develops.

More details to follow.
