72 years old Johnson Ayoade, alongside Fesojaye Ogundana, 67, and Kehinde Adebiyi, 32, was arraigned on Monday before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged involvement in a land fraud case.
The defendants, face a four count charge of conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretense and stealing. However, they pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Tellang, the defendants allegedly committed the offence in January 2025 at Ido Road, Ibadan where they reportedly collected ₦800,000 from Mr. Ademola Adewumi and Toyin Oyewumi under the pretext of helping them purchase a plot of land, which they later sold to another person.
Going further, he said the offences contravened Sections 516, 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs M. A. Atanda, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each, adjourning the case until April 29 for hearing.
