Breaking: Wike Says Fubara Has Not Sought His Forgiveness, Replies Tompolo

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced  that the suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has not approached him to ask for forgiveness.

Wike, speaking through his media aide, Lere Olayinka, stressed that forgiveness can only be considered when the person at fault admits their wrongdoing and seeks pardon.

His reaction followed an appeal from Niger Delta ex-militant leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, who had urged Wike to forgive his former political ally, Fubara, in the interest of peace.

In a recent statement addressing the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, Tompolo called for calm and unity, urging Wike to put aside personal grievances for the greater good of the state.

“Just like I will not accept rebellion from my son, I will also not cause more problems. Wike is angry, but he has to bring his temper down for the good of all. We will have a dialogue and resolve all lingering issues, and again Fubara will return to his seat.” Tompolo said.
