The President, Muhammadu Buhari has consented to the acquisition of the entire share capital of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited by Septal Energy Offshore Limited.
This is according to a tweet by the Presidency this afternoon
According to the Presidency, Buhari authorized the move as Minister of Petroleum to attract foreign direct investment to the country.
He also directed that Exxon Mobil and Septal mitigate all environmental and abandonment liabilities.
