BYU-Pathway Global Education has inaugurated a new educational centre in Lagos, Nigeria, offering affordable, spiritually-based US-accredited degree programmes that can be completed online in as little as three years.
With support from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the initiative aims to provide quality higher education at a reduced cost, benefiting students in Nigeria and beyond. So far, more than 74,000 students across 180 countries have enrolled in BYU-Pathway programmes.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, which was attended by church leaders, invited guests, and students, the President of BYU-Pathway Worldwide, Brian Ashton, described the centre as a significant educational gift to Nigeria.
“We welcome students of our faith as well as those not of our faith to come join us,” Ashton said, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to inclusivity.
Prospective students can apply for admission at the Lagos centre and access various opportunities, including scholarships designed to make higher education more accessible.
