Celestial Church Unveils Founder’s Logo 40 Years After His Passing

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) National Headquarters, Makoko, on Thursday unveiled the official logo of its founder, Prophet Samuel Bilehou Joseph Oshoffa, 40 years after his passing.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Lagos, Shepherd-in-Charge, Afis Kiki, stated that the event marked the beginning of the 40th transition anniversary of the revered spiritual leader, with the theme: “Oshoffa the Sent, the Enigmatic Man.”

Kiki announced that the anniversary celebrations would feature 116 days of documented testimonies highlighting personal encounters and experiences with the late founder. Other activities include a three-day prayer and praise session, a juvenile Bible knowledge competition on CCC doctrines, and a juvenile choir contest.

Also speaking at the event, Convener Samuel Ademola disclosed that the church plans to release a documentary chronicling the life and legacy of the founder. He emphasized that the essence of the celebration is to preserve and pass on Oshoffa’s legacy to future generations.

“We are bridging the gap between past and present generations and restoring the identity of the founder in the consciousness of the public,” Ademola said.

He added that the 116-day testimony project would help resolve tensions within the church and guide members back to spiritual clarity and unity.

“We expect a breeze of calm and a redirection of minds as the founder’s experiences are shared with the flock,” he said.

Ademola also addressed misconceptions about the church, affirming that the Celestial Church is not fetish, as some wrongly believe.

As part of the commemorative events, the church hosted a special presentation titled: “Music and Its Effect on the Generation 40 Years After Papa SBJ.”

Renowned musician Seyi Solagbade underscored the importance of understanding the spiritual and cultural roots of Celestial music.

“There’s a divine rhythm and identity in Celestial music. Members must understand and embrace this heavenly gift,” Solagbade noted.

Another musician, Mawuyon Ogun, described Celestial music as glorious, recalling that in earlier days, Celestial youths prioritized spiritual nourishment over physical needs.

“We grew up feeding on spiritual music. It shaped our values and focus,” Ogun added.

The Celestial Church of Christ, founded in 1947 in Porto-Novo, Benin Republic, has since grown into a global spiritual movement with millions of followers worldwide. The 40th transition anniversary of its founder aims to reignite unity, spirituality, and heritage within the fold.
