
The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, has emphasized the vital role of creativity and innovation in driving Nigeria’s economic development.
Speaking at the 2025 National Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation in Abuja on Tuesday, Ahmad stressed the need for Nigeria to cultivate a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technical excellence among its youth to keep pace with global advancements. She was represented at the event by the Ministry’s Director of Colleges of Education, Dr. Uche Uba.
“The Federal Ministry of Education recognizes the crucial role that creativity and innovation play in our nation’s economic development,” Ahmad stated. She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting innovation through funding research, establishing incubation hubs, and fostering partnerships with the private sector.
Commending young innovators at the exhibition, she described their projects as a testament to their brilliance and a beacon of hope for the nation’s future. She urged them to stay dedicated, seek collaborations, and leverage available resources to bring their ideas to life.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Yusuf Saheed, Director of Reform Coordination in the ministry, who represented the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Nasir Gwarzo, highlighted the exhibition’s role in fostering ingenuity, technological progress, and creativity in polytechnics and other allied institutions.
The exhibition, held at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, showcased groundbreaking ideas, pioneering inventions, and practical solutions to contemporary challenges from students of polytechnics, monotechnics, and innovation enterprise institutions across Nigeria.
