Customs’ wives extend helping hand to hospitals in Ogun

The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Ogun I Command Chapter, Idiroko, has donated mosquito nets and 50 pieces of bed sheets to the General Hospital and Customs Medical Center in Idiroko as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Sango-Ota by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Zakari Chado.

According to the statement, the Chairperson of COWA, Mrs. Fausat Otunla, led the delegation and was received at the General Hospital by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr. Kilanko Margaret, the chief matron, and other staff members who conducted a tour of the hospital facilities.

During the visit, COWA distributed mosquito nets to patients and expectant mothers attending antenatal clinics, while also presenting 50 pieces of bed sheets to the hospital.

The CMD, in her remarks, commended the association for its benevolence, stressing that the donation would significantly improve patients’ welfare. She further assured COWA of the hospital’s readiness to extend medical outreach to association members and their families.

Also speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Sodiq Ola, a pregnant woman, expressed gratitude to the association and prayed for its continued success.

At the Customs Medical Center, Idiroko, COWA replicated the gesture by donating mosquito nets and customised bed sheets. The items were received by Superintendent of Customs (SC) Dr. Abdulmalik Zakariyyah, who thanked the association on behalf of the medical team for its support.

In her remarks, Mrs. Otunla explained that the initiative reflected COWA’s commitment to community development and the well-being of families in Idiroko and its environs.

“This CSR activity underscores the compassionate vision of COWA and its contribution to the health and welfare of communities,” she said.
