The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, has expressed grief over the death of former Military Administrator of Plateau State and one-time Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate, Sen. Mohammed Mana.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Kano by his Special Adviser on Media, Paul Mumeh, Mark described the late Mana as โa fine officer and gentleman who served the nation with dignity and honour.โ
Reflecting on their shared experiences, Mark recalled serving alongside Mana in the Nigerian Army, noting that both of them โleft without blemish.โ He also remembered their time together in the 6th Senate between 2007 and 2011.
โMana was a soldier who defended Nigeriaโs territorial integrity and championed the transition to democratic rule,โ Mark said. He praised the deceased as a patriotic Nigerian, team player, and jovial personality who upheld justice, equity, and fairness without compromising integrity.
The ADC chairman urged Manaโs family, the people of Adamawa State, and Nigerians at large to find solace in the fact that he lived an exemplary life. He prayed for Godโs mercy to grant Mana eternal rest.
Sen. Mohammed Mana, aged 75, died on Friday in Abuja after a brief illness.
