
Prominent political figures and dignitaries converged in Onitsha for the burial of Hon. Justice Chukwunenye Azuka, the kidnapped and slain member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, who represented Onitsha North Constituency 1.
Among those present at the burial mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Awka Road, Onitsha, was the Senator representing Anambra Central, Dr. Victor Umeh (Ohamadike Ndigbo), alongside Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. Also in attendance was former Anambra Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
Other dignitaries at the solemn event included Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Somto Udeze, Senator representing Anambra North, Dr. Tony Nwoye, and several members of the House of Representatives, notably:

Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo (Idemili North and South)
Hon. George Ozodinobi (Anaocha, Dunukofia, and Njikoka)
Hon. Peter Aniekwe (Anambra East and West)
Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, including Hon. Henry Mbachu (Awka South 1), as well as former governorship candidate Chief Valentine Ozigbo, Dr. George Muoghalu, and Chief John Nwosu, were also in attendance to pay their final respects.
The funeral was a moment of grief and reflection for the people of Anambra as they mourned the tragic loss of Hon. Justice Chukwunenye Azuka.
