The Kaduna State Command of the Department of State Services (DSS) has called for deeper collaboration with the Nigerian Army to enhance security operations in the state.
The State Director of Security, Mr. Hakeem Abiola, made the appeal on Monday during a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, in Kaduna.
Abiola congratulated Wase on his appointment, noting that the visit was aimed at fostering synergy in tackling insurgency, banditry, and other security challenges within the division’s area of responsibility.
In his response, the GOC reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to a non-kinetic approach to peacebuilding, stressing the importance of collaboration with sister security agencies and the Kaduna State Government in ensuring stability.
“We will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to guarantee a safe and peaceful environment for citizens across Kaduna State,” Wase assured.
The Voice of the People (VOP) reports that highlights of the visit included interactive discussions and the presentation of a division mascot to the DSS state director as a souvenir.
