The Labour Party governorship candidate in the 2023 elections for Ebonyi State, Edward Nkwegu, has named George Ukpai as the Director-General of his campaign council.
Nkwegu stated this after inaugurating the 32-member campaign council in Abakaliki on Saturday.
According to him, the campaign council led by Ukpai will see to the day-to-day running of the governorship campaign of the party even as the 2023 elections draw nearer, adding that the appointment of the new chartered accountant to mount the saddle of the campaign council signals another milestone for the party.
Reacting, the new Director General expressed his elation by the appointment, saying he was ready to serve and lead the party to victory at the polls.
