EFCC Arrests Six Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Akwa Ibom

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested six individuals suspected of Internet fraud in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

According to a statement released on the agency’s official X handle on Saturday, the arrests were made in the Ekamba and Ekpri Nsukara areas of Nwaniba during an intelligence-driven operation.

“Operatives of the EFCC, Uyo Zonal Directorate, arrested four suspects at Ekamba Nsukara and two others at Ekpri Nsukara,” the agency confirmed.

Items recovered from the suspects include eight mobile phones and two laptops.

The EFCC stated that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
