The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission detained a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele is currently being interrogated at the national headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Jabi, Abuja.

VOP News gathered that operatives of the anti-graft agency picked Emefiele up on Thursday night, less than an hour after he was released by the Department of State Services.

A source revealed that the EFCC is probing Emefiele over alleged impropriety during his term as the head of the apex bank.
