Chairman Champion Newspapers, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu
The Enugu State Waste Management Authority has cancelled the monthly clean-up exercise originally set for Saturday, October 26, 2024. This decision is in light of the state-wide funeral rites for the late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, taking place the same day.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Water and Waste, Andreas Gebauer, confirmed the cancellation, expressing regrets for any inconvenience. He urged residents to maintain cleanliness and properly bag waste for easier disposal.
Funeral rites for Iwuanyanwu will begin on October 29 and he will be buried on November 1, following his passing on July 25 at the age of 82.
